VentureFizz Can Find You a Startup Job

Posted under Resources by Devin Cole on Monday 23 November 2009 at 12:55 pm

We know some of you in the Boston Young Entrepreneurs community are not, in fact, entrepreneurs, at least not at this very moment. Many of you are students with an idea or just a desire to get into the startup world, and many of you have started a company in your past but have a 9-5 for the time being.

Well, we’re always telling young people about how much you can learn working at a startup. It’s often a much more comprehensive, interesting and challenging experience than a regular job.

So, with that in mind, we’d like to point your attention to VentureFizz’ job board for technology companies. This is a quality job board and I know this because, among many other great companies like RunMyErrand and TripAdvisor, I see that BYE Founder Panos Panay’s company Sonicbids is all over it!

Many of you are probably aware of VentureFizz as a great place to go for all types of news on the tech sector in Boston. I highly recommend VentureFizz and suggest you follow them closely if you’re interested in technology. And in this age of plentiful media, make sure to track them on Twitter @VentureFizz!

So, to recap: VentureFizz is awesome in general and even better because they have a job board just for you. For your future reference, VentureFizz will be in the links section to the right of the page.

Be A Global Company from Startup with the Young Entrepreneurs Initiative

Posted under Business News by Devin Cole on Monday 23 November 2009 at 11:19 am

Young Entrepreneurs Initiative is the French Embassy’s effort to support startups with global ambition and potential. Yann LeBeux, the YEi program manager, has been a regular Boston Young Entrepreneurs participant for quite a while.

YEi is free and focuses on the key issues that young entrepreneurs everywhere face, including team building, patents, funding and more. Unfortunately for us, but fortunately for France, getting into the YEi program is competitive and, yes, being a government run program there are rules for applying.

So, here are the BYE words of wisdom: if you fit their rules and regs, definitely apply. It’s a great program and this is your opportunity both shift your business into international high gear AND start taking fantastic, long lunches in Parisian brasseries with red wine.
